Gym Wear Blunders To Avoid

In the gym you can see various combos that the male folk make with their gym-wear and other work-out accessories. These range from the style conscious spotting designer wear like DKNY and Versace, to the less trendy wearing 49ers. Below are some basic syle and fashion blunders see in the gym all over the country.

Pants - V-shaped gym-wear

These are an absolute NO! wear! We all understand that weightlifters have created a sub-culture of sorts identified by distinct clothing, their own lingo and accessories. But unless you weight 350 pounds of pure muscle and dine on high proteins then you probably don't belong to the subculture of body-builders and should stay away from those ridiculous looking pants.

It's a totally different story when pants have a baggy looking top and a narrow cut near the boot; these also come in various designs and colors. The unimaginative cut and the distasteful colors make for a totally unpleasant outfit. Track pants are the recommended bottom attire and they're a versatile gym-wear because of their comfort. Better if they come in uniform color because they'll match any top and track shoes.

Footwear

It's never easy telling someone how to dress but surely, lots of men need pointers when it comes to gym-wear. My first advice is never wear anything that doesn't qualify as an athletic boot to the gym. In my numerous trips to the gym, I've come across men wearing construction boots to the gym or worse cowboy boots! That's a big NO! Surely! Wearing proper footwear to the gym isn't just about being chic; it's a prerequisite to a safe and good workout. Do you get it? Try choosing athletic shoes with the least possible colors so that they can blend with your gym-clothing.

Velcro are also a No, no in the gym. These were a big thing a decade ago but they're not anymore. They can always be found in discount stores for the fashion unconscious among us. It's unfortunate that many top designers are including Velcro in their latest sneaker designs. The difference between designer shoes and the normal Velcro shoe isn't only the price; designer sneakers have an intangible quality that makes them convenient and glamorous. Another little tip is to try to keep your sneakers free of the gray film that accumulates over the years. This will keep the dirty glances away from your shoes.

Shirts

The next big fashion mistake men make when dressing up for the gym is to pull out a white t-shirt with sweat stains in the armpits. The sweater might be totally clean, but time allows most deodorants to leave yellowish stains under the arms. It is a simple question of perception; people might see a yellow stain and assume that the person isn't clean. As a general rule, no one wants to be perceived as an unclean person. The easiest solution to this problem is to save up a mere 20 dollars and buy yourself a new white t-shirt; the investment is worth not going through the embarrassment.

You may consider this fashion tips obvious but unfortunately these fashion blunders keep repeating themselves in the fashion facility and you're better of doing away with them. Workout time is workout time and not a chitchat time; remember to keep your cell phone in the closet.
